How It Works

1. Get a Gridy℠ API Account
Sign up for an API account and start sending Gridy℠ MFA challenges to your Gridy℠ User community using our API in minutes.
2. Send a Gridy℠ MFA Challenge
Use one of our API clients in your preferred programming language and start sending Gridy℠ MFA challenges to the Gridy℠ User community in a few lines of code.
Show the Gridy℠ challenge QR code for a Gridy℠ User to scan & open in their Gridy℠ Authenticator app or let them pick up the challenge directly in the app.
Set the Gridy℠ User who will receive the challenge, set the challenge type(s), challenge QR code, challenge expiry & verification method and send to the Gridy℠ User's authenticator app for authentication.

Gridy℠ MFA Factors
Gridy℠ supports Public Key, Gridy Pattern℠, Pin & Biometric authentication factors. You decide the number, and combination of factors a Gridy℠ User should complete before granting them access to your application, website or any other Gridy℠ protected asset.
Gridy℠ MFA challenges are encrypted using a Gridy User's Public Key, so only the corresponding Private Key securely stored in the User's Gridy Authenticator app will be able to decrypt and attempt to complete your authentication challenges.
3. Gridy℠ User completes MFA challenge
All Gridy℠ MFA challenges are completed in the Gridy℠ Authenticator app.
Once a Gridy℠ User has opened a Gridy℠ MFA challenge in their Gridy℠ Authenticator app, the app automatically attempts the 1st authentication challenge - this is the Public key challenge and requires the Gridy℠ User to be in possession of the corresponding Private key to decrypt the challenge.
After successfully decrypting the Gridy℠ MFA challenge, the Gridy℠ User will then be able to complete all further challenges you have set them.
4. Verify a Gridy℠ Authentication code
After a Gridy℠ User has successfully completed all Gridy℠ MFA challenges in your authentication challenge request, they will receive a One-Time 6 digit authentication code displayed in their authenticator app.
At Gridy℠ we do not use SMS messages, Emails or automated Voice calls to send out One-Time authentication codes due to known risks and recent attacks against these methods. Our multi-layered approach to encryption between our servers and a Gridy℠ User's Authenticator app ensures our authentication codes remain secure.
Verification of the Gridy℠ MFA challenge authentication code is done by submitting the authentication code to the Gridy℠ Verification API endpoint or choose to use the Auto Verify feature.
